INDIANAPOLIS RESTRICTIONS UPDATE
• Keystone Avenue under I-465 on the city's north side will be
restricted to one lane of traffic in both directions as bridge
demolition work continues.
• I-465 westbound near U.S. 31/East Street on the city's south side will
be restricted to one lane as the bridge overhang supports are placed.
• U.S. 31/East Street northbound ramp to I-465 westbound on the city's
south side will be closed for bridge work.
• I-70 westbound ramp to I-465 southbound will be closed while
interchange reconfiguration work occurs. Detour follows I-70 to Sam
Jones Expressway to I-465 southbound.
• I-70 westbound ramp to I-465 northbound will be closed while
interchange reconfiguration work occurs. Detour
• I-465 loop ramps at U.S. 40/West Washington Street will be closed to
allow contractors to shift I-465 toward the
• I-465 between Sam Jones Expressway and I-74 on the west side will be
shifted towards the shoulder as pavement work
• I-465 southbound ramp to I-70 eastbound will be closed while
interchange reconfiguration work occurs. Detour follows I-465 to Sam
Jones Expressway to I-70 eastbound.
• West 10th Street will be restricted to two narrow lanes in each
direction while contractors rebuild the bridge in two phases.
• I-465 southbound ramp to Crawfordsville Road eastbound, will be closed
for construction of a new flyover
• I-465 between U.S. 31/Meridian Street and Allisonville Road on the
north side will be shifted towards the outside lanes as work happens in
the median. Three lanes will remain open during rush hours. Overnight
and on weekends, up to two lanes may close in each direction for road
construction. Total intermittent closures may happen for 20 minutes at a
time near bridges to remove or replace beams over I-465. Stay alert for
changing traffic patterns.
• Keystone Avenue at I-465 will have narrow lanes and slight traffic
shifts as construction work is completed in the area.
• U.S. 31/Meridian Street northbound, between 146th Street and 156st
Street in Westfield, will be restricted to two lanes for soil testing
underneath the left lane. The left turn movement from northbound U.S. 31
to westbound Greyhound Pass or 151st Street may also be closed.
• German Church Road at the intersection south of U.S. 40/Washington
Street on the city's east side will be closed as work continues to widen
and rebuild the intersection. German Church Road north of U.S.
40/Washington Street will remain open. Detour is through Mitthoeffer
Road or Prospect Road.
• Sam Jones Expressway, in both directions between High School Road and
Lynhurst Drive, may be restricted to one lane of traffic for I-465
interchange construction.
• U.S 31/East Street between Epler Ave. and Edgewood Ave., existing
southbound lanes will be closed. A crossover
• U.S 31/East Street in both directions between Edgewood and Epler
Avenues will have the left lane closed while the
• U.S. 31/East Street between Thompson Road and Mill Street will be
restricted using a movable barrier wall while
• U.S. 40/East Washington Street from German Church Road to the eastern
edge of Cumberland is restricted to one
• U.S. 40/East Washington Street, in both directions, between Washington
Square Mall and the eastern edge of Cumberland may have the right lane
closed as pipe work occurs in the area.
• I-65 between I-865 and County Road 100 East in Boone County may have
overnight or weekend restrictions while travel lanes are added. Further
restrictions may occur as the project progresses.
• I-70 near Mt. Comfort Road may be restricted to one lane in either
direction overnight for interchange reconstruction.
• I-465 at U.S. 31/East Street may experience overnight and weekend lane
closures while the U.S. 31/East Street bridge overhead is demolished and
reconstructed. Total night time intermittent closures may happen for 20
minutes at a time to remove beams over I-465.
• I-465 westbound ramp to U.S. 31/East Street southbound on the south
side will be closed while the bridge is demolished and reconstructed in
two phases. Detour follows I-465 westbound to Mann Road and loops around
to I-465 eastbound.
• I-465 eastbound ramp to U.S. 31/East Street northbound on the south
side will be closed while the bridge is demolished and reconstructed in
two phases. Detour follows I-465 eastbound to Emerson and loops around
